North Iceland
8 days / 7 nights - valid all year
Day
1 - Arrival in Iceland - If time allows, visit the Blue Lagoon
and explore the Reykjanes Peninsula.
Overnight in one of our Fosshotels in Reykjavik or similar.
Day 2 - Go North - Drive north to Skagafjörður, the
valley of the horses. En route we recommend river rafting, horseback
riding or driving around Vatnsnes Peninsula and a walk to the seal
colony at Hindisvik.
Stay 2 nights at Fosshotel Aning or similar.
Day 3 - We recommend you drive to Siglufjörður - the
capital of Herring Fishing, stopping en route at the historic sites
of Holar, and a visit to the local folk museum and torf farm at Glaumbær.
Day 4 - Visit Akureyri, the capital of North Iceland and Goðafoss
- the waterfall of the Gods.
Stay 3 nights at Fosshotel Laugar or Fosshotel Húsavík.
Day 5 - Explore the natural wonders of Lake Myvatn, the hot springs
at Námaskarð and the lava fields at Krafla.
Day 6 - We recommend a 3 hour whale watching cruise from Húsavík
and a visit to the whale museum in the same town. Or you could explore
the Tjörnes Peninsula with the horse-shoe shaped canyon Ásbyrgi
and the gigantic waterfall Dettifoss (mid June - August)
Day 7 - Travel to Reykjavik and enjoy an evening walk through
the old town of Iceland's capital.
Overnight in one of our Fosshotels in Reykjavik or similar.
Day 8 - Depart for home
