Itinerary:
Wednesday 8 December
Depart the US on an overnight flight to London
Thursday 9 December
Fly into London Heathrow/Gatwick Airport and take independent transfers
to your hotel. Time to rest and relax. Overnight London (1 night).
Friday
10 December
This morning you will depart London for Oxford and an entertaining
“Harry meets Alice” tour of Christ Church. A little free
time then before returning to your coach for the transfer to Stratford
upon Avon, you base for the next three nights.
Saturday
11 December
Today starts with a Guide Friday tour of Shakespeare’s Stratford.
You will be taken to all of the Shakespearean houses: Shakespeare’s
Birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, Mary Arden’s House,
New Place, Nash’s House, and Hall’s Croft. The tour also
includes stops at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, where the Bard’s
plays are performed; The Holy Trinity Church where Shakespeare is
buried; the 15th century Grammar School where Shakespeare was educated;
and you also get a lovely tour through the Warwickshire countryside
to Wilmcote, the village where Mary Arden’s House (Shakespeare’s
mother) can be found. This afternoon is at leisure. This evening will
be spent at The Swan Theatre, watching this evening’s performance
of William Shakespeare’s “The Two Gentlemen of Verona”.
Sunday
12 December
This morning you will be taken to Coventry Cathedral to enjoy Sung
Eucharist at 10.30am. Then to Warwick Castle to enjoy the Christmas
preparations taking place, including traditional craft stalls, festival
marquee, and a variety of Victorian entertainment, including a magician
and a fire-eater.
Monday
13 December
Today you return to London and your day is at leisure. This evening
tickets to the theatre can be arranged (a supplement will apply).
Overnight London (1 night).
Tuesday
14 December
Independent airport transfers or a two night London extension with
theatre tickets.
